God told me yesterday, “Britt, I never said trials and tribulations would not come, I said ‘I have overcome the world.’ ”
I think I get very surprised when trouble comes and I think that my faith was not as secure as it should be or that I missed God somewhere. The reality is that there is a devour who is exhausting himself to steal, kill and destroy my life. He seeks to devour and not only destroy my life but worse…keep me average. I think the evil one finds it more advantageous to keep me mediocre than to have me dead. Why? I am no threat. I am not a contender for his kingdom. However, when I question my present and expect the next moment to shift me into greatness, then I am a threat. I am a contender. I am an adversary. Not a problem. Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world. Greater works than these will we do because Jesus is with the Father.
As a child, my mom told me that when Jesus died, Satan lost. That he got the keys to hell and that one day Satan will be thrown into the fiery furnace after it’s all said and done on this Earth. As a young girl, this stumped me. Why was Satan trying so hard when he lost? Jesus made Satan his footstool. I asked Mom, “Why is Satan even trying? Doesn’t he know he lost?” My mom replied, “Satan is hoping we don’t know that.”
When you know that God won, you win…every time. His death and resurrection made it that simple. The story goes like this…
In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God. This God speaks and it exists. God gave us the choice life or death. Man chose death. God knew that man chose wrong due to the influence of evil. God knew we needed rescuing. So, God gave us His most precious gift, His son to reverse death’s curse. With God’s help, Jesus lived blamelessly and with God’s help endured the curse of death so we would not have to experience its power. Jesus then proclaimed “It is finished and chose to let death take Him so it would not take us.” Three days later, death lost its sting and everyman thereafter would know relationship and be saved. Saved from death and its relatives. He ascended to heaven and told us we are able to do greater works. The End.
If there is any relative of death at your doorstep knocking or taking residence in your temple, remind yourself of THE story. Remind death that you know how the story ends.
God is a healer. God is a healer. God is a healer.
Get around people who believe God is a healer. Listen to men and women of faith who believe God is a healer. Listen to music that proclaims God as healer. Read the Bible. Pray to the Healer. Go to communities where healing is proclaimed. When doing chores around the house or driving to work, tell the Healer that you love him. Let that love heal you. Tell your trouble who God is.
Tell death that the Healer lives in you.
